My Peace Corps Journal - Introduction
Now that some time has passed since my tenure in the Peace Corps, I feel compelled/obligated to share with you my writings during my PC stint, from June 2011 to January 2012.
In general, quite a few questions came up for me during my time in Tanzania, from the personal (purpose, meaning, future) to the global (role of aid/charity, real v. imagined problems). My hope is that these journals will raise the same questions in your mind, whether you are curious about joining the Peace Corps or about the issues facing Africa in general.
A final thought: Simply put, it was not yet my time to be in the Peace Corps, which is why I left early. I discovered that there were too many things in Michigan that I missed and that missed me. Joining the Peace Corps again in the distant future is still an option. It is a marvelous program.
